We’re thrilled to introduce one of our newest guests — Ringo, a nearly 2-year-old Poodle-Terrier mix who brought a whole new level of energy and joy into our home!
Don’t let the doodle-like curls fool you — while his coat may resemble your typical doodle, Ringo’s athleticism is pure Terrier. From the moment he arrived, he made himself right at home. Within minutes, he discovered our treasure trove of toys and instantly initiated a game of fetch. And wow — he is fast! Not only fast, but incredibly accurate when chasing after the ball. I’ve never met a doodle-type pup this playful and agile.

Normally, our Mini Schnauzer babies are the fetch champions of the house, outpacing and outlasting most visiting pups. But Ringo? He gave them a real run for their money! In fact, even after the Schnauzers needed a break, Ringo was still full of energy and eager for more. He’d drop the ball (or whatever toy was nearby) right next to me, even while I was working at the computer, patiently waiting for me to throw it again. And again. And again.

Because of all this one-on-one playtime, Ringo bonded with me incredibly quickly, more so than almost any other pup we’ve hosted. It was so touching. On his very first day, I had to step out briefly for an unexpected errand, and my wife told me Ringo became visibly distressed. He searched the house, whining and pacing, unable to relax until I returned. When I walked through the door, he jumped up and down with joy like I’d been gone for hours. It truly melted my heart; I think I might be turning into a bit of a dog whisperer!

With all the activity, Ringo built up a great appetite. He devoured every meal without hesitation (something we always hope for during a pup’s first stay), drank plenty of water from the splash-proof bowl, and even mastered the doggy door within hours. We only needed a diaper for the first few hours — after that, he treated the house like his own and never had an accident. Huge win for everyone!

Ringo has been an absolute delight to host — full of personality, nonstop energy, and so much affection. I have no doubt he’s having a true vacation of his own while his parents are away.
