Ringo’s Sweet Return: A Bond That Stuck

Some dogs just leave a mark on your heart—and Ringo is one of those pups.

Just two weeks after his first stay at our little resort, Ringo returned, tail wagging and eyes shining with joy. We’ve welcomed so many amazing dogs through our doors, each with their own personality and quirks. And while I try my best to connect with every single one, the truth is, some bonds run deeper—and with Ringo, it was instant.

From the moment he walked back in, it felt like we picked up exactly where we left off. His happiness was unmistakable. Despite the other playful pups around, Ringo chose to stick close by my side. He’s incredibly affectionate—if I’m sitting, he’s in my lap, showering me with kisses. It’s a sweet reminder that, to him, I’m someone special. Even when my wife is around, if I have to step out of the room for just a few minutes, he starts to whimper and anxiously wait for my return.

This week, we also had a blind senior Chihuahua staying with us who needed some quiet time and isolation. I’ve been spending one-on-one sessions with him in a separate room, and every time, Ringo, along with our two Schnauzer babies, would patiently wait by the door until I return—loyal as ever.

We’ve kept things calm this visit per the vet’s orders, since Ringo recently had a minor surgery. No fetch or wild games—just a peaceful weekend of rest, movies, naps, and lots of love. His appetite? Still amazing. Despite his petite frame, Ringo eats like a champ—he never misses a meal and always finishes his bowl. His water intake is perfect, and his little onesie is doing a great job protecting his stitches.

Although this was a shorter stay, we already can’t wait to see him again next week—when we’ll finally get back to playing fetch and enjoying all the active fun he loves.
