Phoebe — The Tiny Trailblazer

I

This past week was an especially exciting one here at Biggest Little Doggy Care — we had the absolute joy of hosting Phoebe, a 3-month-old Mini Schnauzer puppy who instantly stole our hearts. Out of the 80+ pups we’ve hosted this year, she officially became our first true Mini Schnauzer guest, which made her stay extra special for us. As proud Schnauzer parents ourselves, welcoming this tiny bundle of energy felt like greeting family.

When Phoebe first arrived, she was understandably a bit nervous — everything was new, from the big house to the endless toys and the curious sniffing from our own resident Schnauzer duo, Frasier Jr. and Hershey. But in true brave-puppy fashion, it only took her about 15 minutes to find her confidence. Before we knew it, she was trotting around the playroom, tail wagging, chasing toys, and joining the pack like she’d been here for weeks. Watching her transformation from shy to fearless was simply heartwarming.

What really surprised us, though, was Frasier Jr.’s reaction. Normally the more serious and cautious “security guard” of the house, Frasier melted the moment Phoebe pounced on him playfully. He let her nibble on his ears, chase his tail, and wrestle around like a tiny sibling. It was such a sweet dynamic — he instantly stepped into the role of big brother, patiently letting her win every play battle. Hershey, of course, was her usual social butterfly self, happily showing Phoebe around and teaching her the art of zoomies in the yard.

For such a young pup, Phoebe adapted to our routine incredibly well. She joined every group play, explored every room, and greeted each new dog who came through our doors with excitement and curiosity. Most puppies her age tend to nap a lot between play sessions, but not Phoebe! She was way too busy having fun — chasing squeaky toys, following our two babies everywhere, and trying to be part of every little adventure. Her joyful spirit filled the house all week long, and it’s safe to say she left her paw print on all of our hearts.
