Maggie Checking In

Maggie’s extroverted nature was on full display as she eagerly attempted to mingle with the pack. She was so excited that she even had a little accident (but hey, who hasn’t been a little too excited before?). Hershey has already taken a liking to her playful energy, while Bay is taking a more cautious approach, observing from the sidelines. As for Frasier, he’s still feeling things out, but we’re sure Maggie’s charm will win him over in no time!

Maggie’s Day 2: A Little Ball of Energy

Maggie is officially settling into our doggy resort, and let me tell you, she’s a nonstop bundle of energy! Despite zooming around all day, she slept peacefully through the night without a peep. She’s also been great about her potty breaks, which is always a win.

Now, I used to think Hershey was a messy eater because of her beard, but Maggie takes things to a whole new level! She somehow manages to spread her food all over the floor and even gets bits stuck in her mouth after eating. I had to give her a little face wipe afterward—too funny!

Throughout the day, she’s been a cheerful little Corgi, always smiling. It’s tough to tell if she’s wagging her tiny furball tail, but I’m pretty sure she’s always happy. Even when the rest of the pack was napping, Maggie was still up sniffing around, and when she did lay flat on the floor, she wasn’t really sleeping—just waiting for her next play opportunity.

She’s already super sweet and attached to me. I had a lot of real work to do today, and she kept coming by to grab my leg to say hi. Overall, she seems to be having a blast roaming inside and outside with the rest of the pack.

Day 3 & 4: The Little Powerhouse

The past couple of days have been a whirlwind for me, but no amount of work could slow Maggie down! While I was buried in tasks, she was busy making the most of her time here, spreading joy and energy to everyone in the house. No matter where she went, she had that signature smile on her face, happily panting as she trotted from corner to corner.

If there’s one pup who can match Bay, our high-energy Border Collie, in rough-and-tumble play, it’s Maggie. She may be small, but she’s built like a tank—strong, sturdy, and always ready for action. Her playful yet friendly nature makes her the perfect companion for every pup, seamlessly fitting into the pack with ease.

Even after hours of running, wrestling, and exploring, when the other pups finally surrender to exhaustion, Maggie keeps going like an Energizer bunny. And speaking of bunnies, her ears certainly match the description! I don’t think I’ve seen her nap for more than five minutes at a time, and even then, I have my doubts that she fully dozes off.

All in all, Maggie has been an absolute delight. Her energy remains sky-high, her appetite is strong, and at the end of each fun-filled day, she finally curls up for a well-earned rest. It’s safe to say she’s loving every moment of her stay!

5th Day Stay: A Weekend of Play and Progress

Maggie’s fifth day with us started just like the previous ones, full of energy and enthusiasm! After her morning routine and brunch, she immediately jumped into high-energy play with Bay, our lively Border Collie. The two of them were inseparable, racing around and having a blast, with occasional guest appearances by our sweet Hershey. Their spirited play went on for a good couple of hours, and for a while, I wasn’t sure if Maggie would ever run out of steam! But to my surprise, she eventually slowed down and took a well-deserved nap right next to our boy, Frasier Jr.—a heartwarming sight that truly showed how comfortable she’s become in our little pack.

After their long break, we spent some time in the backyard before heading inside for a snack. I’ve been working on reinforcing good manners during snack time, ensuring everyone stays focused and avoids any snack-stealing antics. I’m happy to report that everyone behaved wonderfully! By the afternoon, Maggie’s energy level had noticeably dipped, which was a welcome change—after all, weekends are meant for a little relaxation, too.

Once Bay headed home, the dynamic shifted slightly, and Maggie, Hershey, and Frasier Jr. seemed to sync into a more harmonious rhythm. They still played, but there was an added layer of calmness in the air, a lovely balance between movement and relaxation. One major milestone today was Maggie finally choosing one of the comfy dog beds for her post-dinner snooze! Up until now, she had only opted for the couch or the floor, so seeing her settle into a bed of her own was a sign of her growing comfort.

Another impressive note, Maggie has proven to be quite the intelligent young lady. Without any formal instruction, she figured out how to use the doggy door just by following our own pups in and out. This newfound freedom has made potty breaks much easier for her, though I must say, she does seem to pee quite frequently! (A little amusing fact we’ve all noticed!)

6th Day – Just A Chillaxing Day

After days of high-energy play, today was a complete chill day for Maggie. With the ever-enthusiastic Border Collie no longer here, the atmosphere was noticeably calmer, giving Maggie a chance to experience a different pace. She finally got some one-on-one attention from our playful Hershey and even engaged in a fun game of fetch with Frasier Jr. I absolutely love their playstyle, active and engaging, yet never too loud or chaotic.

At times, Maggie, Hershey, and Frasier Jr. would simply wander from room to room as if they were on a slow, peaceful stroll along the beach. It was heartwarming to see her ease into this relaxed rhythm, fully embracing the quiet moments just as much as the playful ones.

Another sweet development—Maggie joined us for naps more than ever today. She seemed more comfortable, curling up beside her friends and truly resting. Every now and then, she would even sneak in a few kisses, a sign that she’s feeling more affectionate and at home.

7th Day – Crazy Weather with a Crazy Play with a New Pup

Today was another crazy day at the daycare! I had an unexpected guest—a young, hyper puppy who needed a place to stay while their owner tackled the chaos of moving. Normally, I wouldn’t take in such a high-energy pup, but I really felt for the young pet parent. The cost of living in the Reno area has gotten so high, and moving is stressful enough without having to worry about a rambunctious puppy.

But wow, this little one had energy for days! The house was anything but peaceful with all that excitement. To make things even more challenging, it had been raining all night and all morning. Thankfully, we got a much-needed break from the rain around noon, and I took full advantage of it. As soon as I let everyone outside, they burst into action. A high-speed chase immediately broke out, with Maggie right in the mix!

If I’m being honest, it seemed like the whole crew was ganging up on the young pup, but that little one was tougher than all the little ones combined. No harm done, just lots of running, playing, and burning off that endless puppy energy. It was great to see Maggie getting more involved with the group play than ever before!

Today’s weather was just as wild, with rain throughout the day, then the heavy snowfall hit in the late afternoon, and tomorrow is already April! By the evening, we all settled down, curled up on the couch, and watched some TV together—just what we needed after such an eventful day. Tomorrow will be Maggie’s last day here, and as always, I hope she had a wonderful time at our little resort.
