Lulu: Quietly Winning Us Over
It’s been three and a half days with Miss Lulu, and we’re continuing to build our little bond, one gentle moment at a time. She’s definitely a cautious girl—especially for a doodle—but not in a fearful or timid way. She’s just careful, observant, and thoughtful about new people and situations. Honestly, it’s kind of refreshing.

That said, she’s adjusting beautifully. Her appetite has started to pick up, which is always a relief. After a quick chat with her dad, we got the green light to give her a bit more of our puppy food—Hill’s Science Diet—and it turns out, Lulu loves it. If I hand-feed her, she’ll happily eat every last bite. It’s a slow, sweet little routine we’ve got going now.
She’s also settling into the rhythm of things here really well. Potty-wise, she’s been on a perfect schedule—morning, midday, and bedtime—and not a single accident in the house. That’s always something we deeply appreciate, especially from a younger pup still learning the ropes.

Lulu’s been making lots of new friends, too. She’s usually pretty quiet, but every now and then, she’ll let out a few happy barks when she’s really into playtime. It’s such a joy to see her little personality peek through more each day.

Even though she’s still a bit skittish when I feed her or when we wipe paws after coming inside, she’s also starting to show me how much she’s warming up. If I’m lying down, she’ll sneak over and squeeze herself onto my leg like it’s her rightful spot. And every now and then, she gets so relaxed that she flops onto her back, paws in the air, totally at ease. That upside-down nap? That’s the ultimate sign of trust—and I don’t take it for granted.

Lulu might be quiet and reserved, but she’s quietly winning us all over. Day by day, she’s showing us her sweet, steady heart—and I feel lucky to be part of her little journey.
