Ferguson’s Fun-Filled Day: From Blues to Zoomies

Today, Ferguson’s mom told us he’d been feeling a little down lately. Even after two days of constipation, he wasn’t his usual self—he didn’t even want to eat his brunch. But we had a feeling our little resort would be just the thing to lift his spirits.

Maybe he just missed his buddies—after all, they’re probably the only friends he’s known in his young life. The moment he walked through the door and saw Hershey and Tosey, his tail went into full-speed wag mode! Frasier, on the other hand, was his usual reserved self, but that’s just his style.

And, for some reason, our guests always seem to love our puppy food. It’s nothing fancy or expensive, but even the pickiest eaters (looking at you, Bo!) can’t resist. Ferguson was no exception—he happily chowed down his brunch.

But the real fun began when Bo, our weekly regular—a two-year-old poodle—joined in. Maybe it was their matching fur color, but these two hit it off instantly! This was a big surprise because Bo has been pretty reserved during his last four visits. But today was different. They chased, rolled, and licked each other nonstop, playing like lifelong best friends. By the time midday snacks rolled around, they were both happily exhausted.

The afternoon was more relaxed—just some lounging and a second round of backyard playtime. And by dinnertime? Ferguson had no trouble polishing off his own food. It’s amazing what a little socializing can do for a pup’s happiness and appetite!

We love seeing our furry friends bond and bring out the best in each other.

A Weekend Adventure at Our Doggy Resort

A Quiet Midday Break

After a few hours of non-stop play, Ferguson took a step back from the action and wandered the house on his own—his favorite pastime. To help him feel at home, we treated him to dog biscuits and dried liver snacks throughout the day, a little reminder that he was safe and cared for.

Afternoon Excitement & New Friendships

The energy picked up again in the early afternoon with the arrival of Ms. Kora, a friendly 7-year-old Labradoodle. Ferguson quickly found a new playmate, and the games began! From chasing tails and tugging chew toys to curiously attempting to follow our pups through the doggy door, he was fully engaged. With a little more practice, we’re sure he’ll master the doggy door by the end of the weekend!

By 4:30 PM, it was dinnertime—and what a feast it was! With five hungry pups to feed, mealtime required careful supervision to ensure everyone stuck to their specific diets. Despite the excitement, all the pups enjoyed their meals, though we’re pretty sure they wouldn’t have minded a little extra!

🐶✨

As the evening wound down, the excitement of the day gave way to calm and relaxation. Each pup found their favorite spot to unwind, and Ferguson, now feeling fully at home, curled up beside me on the couch, soaking in some quiet, quality time. It was the perfect ending to his first big sleepover adventure.

When it was time for bed,

At bedtime, Ferguson was still busy sniffing around, so we gave him a relaxing massage to help him settle. It worked for a little while, but soon enough, he was up again, searching for companionship. Eventually, the adorable little guy made the decision for us—he jumped right onto our bed. And honestly, how could we say no? He spent the night cozily snuggled up with us, sleeping soundly until morning. 🐶❤️

Day 2: A Fun-Filled Saturday

The morning started bright and early at 7 AM with some good stretches and outdoor time as the pups enjoyed the fresh air and did their thing in the yard. After a bit more playtime indoors, brunch was served at 7:30 AM. Keeping Ferguson focused on his own plate was a bit of a challenge—his curiosity about what the others were eating kept distracting him! But with some encouragement, he managed to finish about 80% of his meal before losing interest.

At 8 AM, our house regular Tosey made a special Saturday morning visit. By now, Ferguson and Tosey have become great friends, and their excitement upon seeing each other was heartwarming. The two wasted no time jumping right into their usual playful antics, setting the tone for another fun-filled day ahead!

Ferguson had an absolute blast today, playing non-stop with all the pups in the house, especially his buddy, Tosey. It’s been heartwarming to see how much more responsive he’s become with me. I used to have to chase him around to bring him back inside after potty breaks, but now he follows me in without hesitation. He’s even grown so attached that he tried to nap on my neck this afternoon! His tail wags endlessly when he looks into my eyes, and he’s started following me around the house, always eager to stay close. When I step out, he even waits anxiously by the door, which just melts my heart.

Day 3: The short stay is coming to an end

Ferguson had a restful night, sleeping soundly without moving around much. He started his morning with a potty break and a leisurely 30-minute stretch in the yard, taking his time to explore. When it was time for brunch, he was his usual slow and curious eater—I had to keep an eye on him to make sure he finished his meal without getting it stolen, especially since he was busy trying to sneak bites from others! He’s definitely not shy anymore, fully treating this place like home and feeling completely at ease while playing with Hershey.

Mr Ferguson’s Big Day

Today was a big day for Mr. Ferguson, the curious little terrier returned, only to find himself in what was probably the biggest doggy gathering he’d ever seen! I’ll admit I was a little concerned at first. With two larger dogs in the mix—a reserved Labradoodle who prefers solitude and a high-energy Border Collie; I wasn’t sure how he’d navigate the pack.

But, as always, Mr. Ferguson surprised me. He handled himself with confidence, mingling in just the right way. He even got close to Kora, who didn’t growl at him—a huge win considering how selective she can be. And with Bay, he blended in effortlessly, as if they’d been friends all along. Not to mention, Tosey, our house regular, has become his best friend, they were playing so hard when he first saw her.

That said, he did show a small regression from his last visit when it came to responding to his name. For the first few hours, he was half social, half independent—sometimes engaging with the group, other times wandering around on his own. The funniest part? His absolute fascination with the doggy door. Like clockwork, every 15 to 20 minutes, he’d let himself out, take in the fresh air, and then trot back in as if checking on things.

But by 7 PM, the energy had settled. After all the excitement, Mr. Ferguson and the rest of the gang curled up next to each other, exhausted but content.

From Rookie to Expert: Ferguson’s Socializing Skills Level Up!

Ferguson may be small, but today he proved—once again—that size is just a number. He and Bay were inseparable, locked in an endless cycle of play that had me both entertained and slightly on edge. Bay, being the bigger and stronger of the two, was completely focused on him, and while I had to step in a couple of times when her enthusiasm got a little too intense, Ferguson never seemed fazed.

For such a little guy, he’s fearless. Where some dogs might back away from Bay’s full-speed wrestling style, Ferguson dove right in. He darted, dodged, and gave as good as he got. TBH I was a little nervous, so I watched over them when they were playing at such high energy. But even when Bay tried to fit his whole neck in her mouth (purely in play, of course), he kept coming back for more. It’s a dynamic that reminds me just how different each dog’s play style can be, unlike my Hershey, who has been kind of ignoring Bay’s advance all week. Ferguson not only loves to play with Bay, he also loves to play with Tosey, who is his ex bff until today LOL

When they were not going at each other, Ferguson enjoyed nice little naps here and there, especially on the couch next to my lap.

I’d say he’s no longer a novice when it comes to socializing—he’s proven he can keep up with dogs of any size, breed, or age with ease.
