Cola Is Back—and So Is the Warmth She Brings

Cola, our beloved Bernedoodle, may have only taken a short two-day break from us, but her absence was deeply felt. The house just didn’t feel the same without her. It was quieter, less lively—missing that spark she always brings.

So when she returned today, pulling eagerly at her harness to come inside, my heart just about melted. It reminded me of that sweet moment when dogs see their humans return—it was pure love and excitement. Though I know her stay with us is always temporary, Cola has left a permanent mark on my heart.

Once she settled back in, it didn’t take her long to fill our space with joy again. Her signature smile lit up the room, and before we knew it, she was bouncing around with her fur-friends, playing with toys, claiming the coziest blankets, and curling up on the couches like she never left.

Today was extra special—we had a meet and greet with another Laradoodle who looked so much like her. They hit it off instantly! Maybe Cola was just happy to finally have a buddy her own size to chase tails with, without worrying about knocking anyone over. I wish I had snapped a few pictures of their playdate, but I’m hoping to capture some sweet moments before she checks out on Friday.

Until then, we’re soaking up every minute with our favorite Bernedoodle.
