Cola’s Visit: A Heart Full of Love and a Fresh New Look
Cola, our beloved Bernedoodle, has once again filled our home with so much joy. She continues to be one of the absolute sweetest pups we’ve ever had the pleasure of hosting, and it’s safe to say—she loves it here just as much as we love having her.
From the moment she wakes up until it’s time to wind down late at night, Cola shares her love freely with everyone—both humans and pups alike. Mornings are her favorite, where she happily dives into our stash of chew toys and stretches her long legs alongside our Schnauzer babies in the yard. Her energy is joyful, her spirit is gentle, and her presence is pure comfort.
Because she means so much to me—and because I truly wanted her stay to be extra memorable, I decided to take on a new challenge: giving her a haircut. It wasn’t just about looks either. Cola always seems to run a little hot (she even parks herself next to the AC vent!), and when her mom told me her next grooming appointment was a whole month away, I thought… why not?
Now, let me be clear: I’m no professional groomer. The only haircut I’ve ever mastered is the Schnauzer cut I do for my own pups. But with the right equipment on hand and a handful of YouTube videos under my belt, I gave it my best shot.
It wasn’t quick—it took much longer than I expected—but after a few focused hours, I think the final result came out pretty decent. Cola was incredibly patient with me, and I think she appreciated the effort just as much as I appreciated her trust. I hope everyone else agrees that she’s looking extra fabulous and comfy now!
Sadly, tomorrow she heads home again, with her dad moving on to the Major League. While we’re incredibly proud of them, a part of me can’t help but feel a little emotional. I truly hope this won’t be the last time we get to see sweet Cola. She’s more than a guest—she’s family.
