Beau: The Sweet, Misunderstood, Young Pup
Although Beau’s spirit remains high and playful, I have to admit—it’s been a little bittersweet having him around lately. As much as I adore him, the smaller dogs in the house seem a bit intimidated by his presence. It breaks my heart because he’s totally misunderstood. Beau is just a young, friendly pup who gets excited around every dog he meets. All he wants is to sniff, play, and make friends.
Unfortunately, his strong posture and powerful athleticism can come off as overwhelming to the little ones, especially when he jumps up with those big front paws. At our little resort, we always strive to make sure every guest feels safe, included, and cared for—even in tricky situations. That’s a promise we make, and one we take seriously.

With Beau, that’s meant spending extra one-on-one time with him to ensure he doesn’t feel left out. We also make sure he always has at least one compatible playmate, usually Frasier or Tosey, who are a bit sturdier than the under-15-pound crew. And to keep Beau from getting bored (he never seems to run out of energy), I’ve been playing lots of fetch with him. Meanwhile, my mom takes him on strolls around the yard while she tends to garden chores—giving him extra attention and movement.

By the afternoon, even Beau, our high-energy athlete, is completely wiped out. I was lucky enough to capture one of the sweetest moments recently—he fell asleep right on my shoulder, his paws gently hugging me. It was one of those rare, quiet, perfect moments that I’ll remember for a long time.

I truly believe this is what sets us apart from other sitters or doggy camps: we spend every minute with our guests, treating them like our own. This passion project might not bring in the best ROI (far from it, lol), but the real reward is in the joy and connection we get to share every day.

One unexpected bonus? It’s been reigniting my love for photography. Since launching the website, I’ve mostly relied on my phone for quick snaps. But honestly, I’ve been disappointed with the blurry, unfocused results. Beau inspired me to slow down and be more intentional. I managed to capture a few shots of him that I absolutely love. He’s such a handsome, sweet pup—both in photos and in person.
