So far, Bay has been very well-behaved and quiet. She had her first potty break outside and knew exactly what to do, heading straight to the designated area without hesitation, a skill not all of our house guests master so quickly!

After a few small treats, she settled in for a nap. One thing I’ve noticed is that she prefers not to sleep on any of the existing beds, likely because of the scent of other dogs. Hopefully, as she becomes more comfortable, she’ll find a cozy spot that feels just right for her.

During dinner time, Bay’s parents provided her with one of the most extravagant meals I’ve ever seen, it looked so delicious that I had to give her a private dining area to make sure no one else tried to steal a bite! She seemed to appreciate the setup, patiently waiting in the kitchen for her meal and showing zero interest in the others’ food while they ate. Such a well-mannered girl!

After dinner, Bay cautiously explored the house but mostly stayed close to me while I worked on the computer. When bedtime came, she seemed a bit anxious at first. She wasn’t interested in any of our fluffy beds and chose to settle on the floor next to our bed instead. But before we drifted off to sleep, she made a little change—jumping up onto our bed and curling up near our feet. At our doggy resort, as long as our guests are clean and friendly, we just can’t say no to a little extra nighttime company (even if we don’t officially advertise it!).

However, in the middle of the night, Bay jumped off the bed and wandered around for a while, taking about 30 minutes to finally settle into a spot of her choosing. By morning, though, she had made herself right at home—resting comfortably in one of the fluffiest beds we have. A great start to her stay!

Bay’s Day 2: New Friends & New Adventures

Bay started her morning with a bit of urgency, waking up anxious to head outside for her potty break. Once we were back inside, she was treated to her fancy brunch, and her appetite did not disappoint, she enjoyed every bite!

The real fun began when our regular house guest, Tosey, arrived. With that, the party officially started! There was plenty of excitement, with some playful chasing around the house. Though Bay and Kora are still a bit shy and not quite ready to engage at the same energy level as the others, they’re slowly warming up. Interestingly, Bay seemed to have a special fascination with our little Hershey, she kept making adorable whining sounds while chasing after her, which was both unexpected and hilarious!

After a short break, we took advantage of the nice weather and headed out for a neighborhood walk with Bay and Kora. Bay seemed to really enjoy taking in all the new scents and fresh air, exploring her surroundings with curiosity.

Once we returned home, she continued to explore at her own pace, taking in more of her new environment. Eventually, she found her perfect spot, right beside me as I worked on my computer. It’s wonderful to see her slowly settling in!

After her brunch, our frequent guest Tosey joined the party, bringing her usual energy and excitement.

Bay is still finding her place within the pack, taking her time to observe and figure out where she fits in. To help her feel more comfortable, we spent plenty of time outside, making the most of the beautiful weather. With multiple play sessions in the yard, the pups had a blast soaking up the sun and enjoying each other’s company.

In the evening, she even got a VIP treatment from my wife…

Bay’s Day 3: Finding Her Place, Learning Her Strength, and Owning the Pack (and the Beds)!

After spending most of the night curled up on our (human) bed, Bay started her morning eager to head outside for her potty break and enjoy her fancy brunch. She’s definitely settling into her routine!

There haven’t been many big changes throughout the day, but she’s slowly finding her place within the pack. She’s becoming more interested in playing with the others, often expressing her excitement by barking loudly or continuing whining persistently behind Hershey’s butt. 😂

One challenge for Bay seems to be learning how to control her strength. She’s naturally quicker and more powerful than most of the other dogs in the house, with the exception of Kora. But thankfully, her gentle nature shines through, and she’s doing a great job matching her energy level to the group.

When the others are off doing their own thing, Bay continues to wander the house, curiously searching for her perfect resting spot. Compared to just a couple of days ago, she’s now comfortable sleeping on multiple different beds, meaning she’s no longer concerned about the scent of other dogs. It is a great sign that she’s feeling more at home!

What’s especially sweet is how often she follows me around the house. Whether I’m working at my computer desk or sitting at the dining table, she’s always nearby, keeping me company. It’s clear she’s growing more attached, and I love seeing her trust and comfort grow each day. 🐾💙

Bay continues to be an absolute gem, no accidents in the house, and she’s so comfortable with the routine that she doesn’t even need a leash for potty breaks. The only thing she’s still learning is how to manage her excitement around the tiny ones, especially Hershey. Unlike the first few days when she whimpered after him, today she was much more playful, even barking at times. Hershey wasn’t too sure about it, but luckily, our resident security guard, Frasier, stepped in (as always) to keep things in check. It’s pretty funny to watch him take his role so seriously!

The funniest part of the day? A new tiny poodle joined the crew, and Kora, our big Labradoodle, became completely fascinated with him. Poor Bo, being as shy as he is, wasn’t quite sure how to handle Kora’s interest. But this time, it wasn’t just Frasier stepping up, Bay took on the role of protector, barking at Kora to back off and giving Bo some much-needed backup.

All in all, today was another fun-filled pup party. While I’m definitely feeling the exhaustion, we ended the night the best way possible—curled up on the couch together, drifting off to sleep after a long, happy day. 🐶

Bay’s 5th Day: Settling In and Slowing Down

After nearly a full week of nonstop play with the same buddies, the energy in the daycare has finally taken a slight dip, not just for the pups, but for me too! No one can keep up that high-speed excitement every single day, and today, we all felt it.

Bay, however, seems to be finding her groove. She’s noticeably more relaxed, enjoying her time in a different way. Instead of constant moving around, she’s focused on all the chewing toys around, both her study ones and our small toys, which, unfortunately, don’t stand a chance against her! I’ve had to keep a close eye on her toy choices, but it’s great to see her feeling comfortable enough to settle in and explore.

She’s still as well-behaved as ever, making her way straight to the potty area without hesitation, with no distractions and no delays. Occasionally, she would come over for little moments of love, surprising me with sweet hugs throughout the day.

Bay’s 6th Day: Found a New Best Friend

More uBay has been having an absolute blast during her stay, but today was something special—she found a new best friend! For whatever reason, she has become completely fixated on little Ferguson, the spunky terrier mix. Despite their size difference, Bay seems determined to make him her partner in crime, following him around and engaging in endless play.

I have to admit, their interactions made me a little nervous at times. Bay can get pretty enthusiastic, and with her size advantage, I had to call her off a couple of times when her playful chomping got a little too close to Ferguson’s tiny neck. Luckily, it’s all in good fun—there’s no real force behind it, and Ferguson, for his size, is surprisingly fearless. Unlike my Hershey, who has always been a bit more reserved in play with Bay, Ferguson dives right in without hesitation.

When Bay isn’t busy wrestling with Ferguson, she’s channeling her endless energy into her chew toys. But even the most playful pups need a break, and when that time comes, Bay crashes hard—whether it’s on the couch or any comfy spot she can claim. Once she’s out, she’s in a deep nap, recharging for another round of fun.

Bay’s 7th Day: Little Trouble in the Court Yard, and a Interesting New Robot Friend

The high-energy streak continued today, with six pups turning the daycare into a full-blown party zone. Bay and Ferguson were at the center of it all, their endless game of chase carrying them all over the house and yard. The weather was absolutely perfect, so they made the most of it outside before it was time for Mr. Ferguson to say goodbye.

Today Bay did cause a little mischief. While I stepped out for a short 15-minute walk with Kora, I left her and the others in the courtyard. When I came back, one of our lounge chair cushions had been completely destroyed, and I caught her red-handed chewing on the cotton that came out of the cushion. I don’t think she did it on purpose, her powerful paws and high-energy zoomies just got the best of it. After a (gentle) scolding, she seemed to understand and quieted down for a bit… until the real drama began.

Enter: the new robot vacuum.

I had just replaced my Roomba with a more advanced Roborock, hoping it would finally keep up with Bay’s never-ending shedding. Strangely enough, she never paid much attention to the Roomba, but this new one? Oh, she was NOT having it. Despite being quieter, Bay barked and chased after it with lots of curiosity.

Shortly after Ferguson checked out, Tosey followed. And for the first time in days, the house felt a little quieter, something I think both the remaining pups and I needed. Most of us took advantage of the calmer vibe, lounging on the couch, napping, or just relaxing in front of the TV.

After dinner, Everyone curled up in their favorite spots for a well-earned nap. And for the first time, Bay chose to settle into the big soft bed alongside Hershey, the smallest pup around. It was a sweet sight, big and small, side by side, just peacefully resting.

I think they’re all just saving up energy for the real excitement—my wife is coming home from work. Something tells me Bay isn’t done with her high-energy antics just yet!

Bay’s 8th Day: A Well-Deserved Slow Day

After seven days of nonstop action, today felt like a well-earned break for everyone, including Bay. Whether it was the absence of her little firecracker friend Ferguson or just the accumulated exhaustion of a full week of play, the energy in the house was noticeably calmer. Even Bay, who usually never seems to run out of steam, spent most of the day taking it easy.

Before noon, she and the rest of the pack enjoyed a peaceful sunbathing session outside, soaking up the warmth without the usual frenzy of chasing and wrestling. It was a nice change of pace, just dogs lounging, enjoying the moment, and recharging.

One funny thing I’ve noticed is how much Bay’s comfort level has grown. When she first arrived, she would choose the floor over any of the many cozy beds available. Now? She’s made it her mission to test out everyone in the house, plus the couch!

By evening, Bay was the only guest left besides my two Schnauzer puppies. My little ones, though full of spunk, just can’t keep up with her energy. But instead of being restless, Bay has fully settled in, entertaining herself with chew toys or curiously following the robot vacuum as it moves around. She’s confident, relaxed, and right at home.

Her appetite is still top-notch. She’s always excited for mealtime, and when the day winds down, she sleeps soundly through the night without a peep until morning.

Tomorrow, a new friend around her age will be joining the party. Here’s hoping for another fun-filled day, after all, Bay should be well-rested and ready to go again!

Bay’s 9th Day: A Focused Day Before the Party Grows Again

Our daily routine started as usual—Bay stretched out for a good morning warm-up, followed by a well-earned brunch. But today was a little different. For the first time, it was just Bay and my two Schnauzer puppies, meaning we finally had the chance to focus a bit more on our playtime.

Frasier, who normally dominates in fetch against Hershey, found himself up against a real challenger today. Bay gave him a run for his money, racing after the ball with impressive speed. The only catch? She still needs to work on actually bringing the ball back instead of turning it into her personal chew toy. But hey, progress is progress! At least they had a blast together.

In the afternoon, I had to focus on the real job, you know, the one that keeps the human food on the table, but Bay was never far. She showed her affectionate side by sticking close, even following me during my bathroom breaks 😂

By dinnertime, the quiet day came to an end with the arrival of Maggie, a high-energy Corgi checking into our little resort. What was interesting, though, was Bay’s reaction. After days of being totally relaxed and confident with everyone, playfully taking the lead, she suddenly seemed a little reserved around Maggie—almost like how she was during her first visit. But I have no doubt she’ll match Maggie’s energy by tomorrow. In fact, they already started warming up during an extra play session in the yard late in the evening.

With Maggie in the mix, I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be anything but low-energy. Let’s see how long it takes for Bay to get back into full play mode!

Bay’s 10th Day: Settling Into the Routine

Today was a laid-back one for Bay and the rest of the crew. With me tied up handling the kind of work that keeps the human bills paid, I let everyone roam freely inside the house, and to my surprise, they all kept things pretty calm, including Bay and Tosey. Every now and then, I’d hear Bay bark with excitement as she chased after Hershey, but for the most part, it was a chill day of lounging and casual exploring.

We soaked up the sun in the backyard multiple times, though no high-energy zoomies today. Bay is still a bit reserved around the new Corgi, Maggie, but she’s holding her own just fine. Thankfully, she has her trusty chew toy, it’s the only one tough enough to withstand her determined chewing!

She also made sure to check in with me throughout the day, hopping into my lap for some affection (or maybe just hoping for another outdoor break). On the potty front, she’s been exceptional, no accidents, and she knows exactly where to go when I let her out.

Her spirit remains bright, though I can tell she still misses her real family. But for now, she’s doing great, and we’re happy to have her here. 💛

Day 11 & 12: Queen of the Pack

After spending over a week here, Bay has officially claimed the daycare as her own! I’m starting to question her mom’s claim that she’s “middle of the pack” because, from what I’ve seen, she’s been ruling every play session, claiming every toy, and even hogging the couch. If Hershey or Maggie can’t keep up with her, she lets them know with a bark of encouragement (or maybe a demand!).

But the most important thing? She’s having an absolute blast.

With work keeping me extra busy these past two days, the pups have been entertaining themselves—and thank goodness for Maggie, the only one with enough stamina to keep up with Bay’s high-energy wrestling matches. My Hershey simply can’t keep up, and to be honest, my boy Frasier seems a little intimidated by her boldness!

When I do get a break, we all head to the backyard for some quality time. The last couple of days, the energy outside has been much more relaxed. The pups casually run around, and I even tried to get a game of fetch going (though let’s be real—Bay was probably the one most eager to chase the ball).

Since I haven’t been around the living room much lately, Bay has become extra attached to my wife. She even pulled off an impressive leap into the big massage chair while my wife was in it—something not many pups here can manage! And when she’s feeling extra affectionate, she squeezes right in front of Tosey and Frasier, laying flat on her belly just to be closer to my wife.

Tomorrow, Bay will be heading home, and I know her family must be missing her dearly. I truly hope she’s had a great time here—I know we’ve certainly enjoyed having her!
