Tosey Update: Feeling the Blue with her New Haircut?

It’s been a little while since our last Tosey update, and that’s probably because she’s basically family now. Her visits have become such a natural part of our routine that living the simple life is the good life, so there aren’t a lot of extraordinary things to write about.

Lately, Tosey’s days have been steady brunch in the morning, followed by high-energy play sessions with Hershey and Frasier. It’s such a fun little trio to watch, especially when they all get into their groove together.

Since her last stay, Tosey got a fresh new haircut… or maybe we should call it a full makeover. We’re not entirely sure it was her ideal look, she might’ve preferred a little more fluff left behind; not sure if it is the look, but she’s been a little more mellow than usual since. Whether it’s the cut, the weather, or just one of those pup moods, she’s been taking more naps lately, often curling up right alongside our own sleepy crew.

To match the chill vibes, we dressed her up in a stylish little sweater, and now she truly looks like part of the pack. Picture-perfect and cozy.

One thing we’ve noticed (and reminded her dad about): she’s still not too thrilled with her regular kibble. She’ll only dive in enthusiastically after a full day of play, and during calmer mornings, she needs a little coaxing, whether that’s a few tasty toppers or even a scoop of our Schnauzer puppy food mixed in. Otherwise, she tends to pick at it slowly.

As always, we absolutely love having her here. Now that my parents are back from their snowbird trip, they’ve also gotten to enjoy Tosey’s visits again. They adore her temperament and always comment on what a well-behaved, sweet girl she is.

She’s part of the family, and we’re so happy every time she walks through the door.

Tosey: More Than a Guest, She’s Family

In the early days, she used to go wild with Hershey every chance she got, but now that they’re old buddies, she’s settled into a more relaxed rhythm. She knows she has all the time in the world to play—on her terms, at her own pace.

What Tosey seems to enjoy the most these days, though, is our downtime together. When I take a break or sneak in a nap on our big round couch, it doesn’t matter how many pups are already sprawled out with me—Tosey will find a way to squeeze in next to me. And if there’s no room? Well, she’ll just plop right on top of me, content to nap as close as possible.

Aside from the joy of having so many different pups to play with, I think her favorite part of being here might just be my snack breaks. She’s got an appetite just like my own babies—never picky, always ready to eat! From time to time, I treat her to some delicious canned food alongside my own pups, though I make sure not to overfeed (I’ve seen what happens when dogs get a little too spoiled!). Keeping everyone healthy and at a good weight is important, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some good food along the way.

Another Big Group Day!

Ms Tosey Joins the Party!

Don’t let her sweet, innocent face fool you, Tosey is the dominant one of the bunch. She wasted no time jumping right into the action, leading the chase and bringing playtime to a whole new level. The other pups had no choice but to keep up with her energy!

But being the queen of the pack comes with its perks. Tosey knows exactly how to get what she wants—always claiming the fluffiest bed for her naps and somehow managing to be first in line for treats every time. She’s truly spoiled by everyone here, and honestly, she wouldn’t have it any other way!
